The Peak View Home
The Peak View Home is a Colorado Springs property being transformed into a thoughtfully designed long-term rental.
The goal was to create a home that could stand up to everyday rental living while still feeling warm, intentional, and inviting. Every decision had to balance durability, maintenance, budget, and visual impact—because a successful rental should work well for both the owner and the people who call it home.
The Design Direction
White walls are a practical choice for rental properties, but practical doesn’t have to mean plain.
Rather than relying on the typical combination of white paint, cool grey flooring, and builder-basic finishes, we introduced warmth through natural wood tones, layered neutrals, thoughtful fixtures, and details that give the home character without limiting how future renters make the space their own.
The result is a clean, flexible foundation that still feels considered—not another grey box.
Designed for Long-Term Rental Living
The materials throughout the home were selected with long-term performance in mind.
Renter-friendly flooring provides the warmth and appearance of natural wood while offering the durability needed for pets, moving furniture, spills, and everyday wear. Fixtures and finishes were chosen to feel elevated while remaining practical, replaceable, and easy to maintain between tenants.
The goal wasn’t to use the cheapest option. It was to invest thoughtfully in the areas that would improve both the renter experience and the long-term value of the property.
